Marcus Roberts Jazz pianist, born in Jacksonville, Florida, blind at age 5. 1st Prize, 1987 Thelonious Monk Intl. Jazz Competition
Dennis Yost, 1993 Inductee, Group Category, Georgia Music Hall of Fame (Band: Classics IV) One of the most recognized voice of "Pop" music in the late 60's , and still active in Vegas.

Billy Daniels, Popular jazz singer in the 1940's.
Molly Hatchet, Southern hard rock band, self-titled album earned Platinum, Flirtin' With Disaster sold over 2 million copies.
John Walters, drummer with Dr. Hook.
Rick Medlocke, played with Blackfoot, blues/Southern rock band.
Allman Brothers, blues-based country rock band, with many gold and platinum albums, inductees to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Charlie Spivak, Trumpeter, major attraction starting 1940's played in big bands, including Tommy Dorsey, had own part-time band.
Ray Charles, blind Jazz singer/pianist of legendary status.
Doyle Dykes, innovative guitarist, people listening to his recordings have been known to think their are two guitars.

Ross Tompkins, jazz pianist with Louie Bellson and Benny Goodman, and the Tonight Show Band.
Rita Coolidge, 2-time Grammy-winning singer, with Top 10 hits "Higher and Higher" and "We're All Alone"
Pat Boone, vocalist, though never a member of our local, born in Jacksonville, Florida. has had 60 songs on Billboard charts, 15 reached Top Ten, has sold over 45 million albums.
Ottis (Slim) Whitman, vocalist, self-taught guitarist. While pursuing baseball, learned to imitate Montana Slim and yodeler Jimmie Rodgers. Meeting Colonel Tom Parker led to RCA recording contract, and stage name Slim, his music has influenced Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney Michael Jackson, with over 70 million records sold.
